Basketball Teams At State

At the beginning of fall practice, the goal of every high school basketball team is to play a 21st game. That means you’ve made the post-season. The next goal is to add to the school’s trophy case with a league or district title. The ultimate goal is to make a trip to the state tournament. Be it in the Tacoma Dome, the Yakima Sundome or Spokane’s Memorial Arena; it’s the chance to play on the big stage under the big lights.

Congratulations to our local Snohomish County teams at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s state tournament:

4A GIRLS AT THE TACOMA DOME

The Glacier Peak Grizzlies lost the state championship game to Kentridge. The Grizzlies finished 2nd in the state.

3A BOYS AT THE TACOMA DOME

The Stanwood Spartans defeated Rainier Beach in Saturday's placement game. The Spartans finished 4th in the state.

3A GIRLS AT THE TACOMA DOME

The Snohomish Panthers defeated Lincoln in Saturday's placement game. The Panthers finished 3rd in the state.

The Lynnwood Royals lost to Kamiakin in Saturday's placement game. The Royals finished 6th in the state.

1A BOYS AT THE YAKIMA SUNDOME

The King’s Knights defeated Lynden Christian in Saturday's placement game. The Knights finished 3rd in state.
