Paris Smith-Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete-January 2019

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

State Champion Bowler Paris Smith of Cascade High is our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for January 2019. Smith won the 4A state title last month by rolling a 1214 point six game series score during the WIAA State Championships at Narrows Plaza in University Place. Even more impressive was the fact that Smith trailed last year's defending State Champion Kristina Harris of Rogers (Puyallup) going into the last few frames of the 6th and final game before catching fire and pulling away with a 32 pin victory over an opponent that prevented her from winning the state title in 2018. Paris was a 4 year state participant finishing 40th her freshman year, 28th as a sophomore and 2nd as a junior. She carried an average of 192 over the regular season and won the NW District title with a two game series score of 403. Paris Smith is a three sport athlete who participates in Swimming and Golf while also excelling in the classroom. She currently carries a 3.9 GPA and plans to continue bowling in college while studying Biomedical Engineering at Wichita State University.
