116th St Intersection Debuts New Signals This Weekend

​The temporary lights in place have been up since November 2018, but the new, permanent lights will go into use this weekend.

Additional minor improvements will be installed later in 2019, including signs, an asphalt landing on the south side of the intersection and permanent median islands. The crosswalk is part of a larger project also coming later in the year.

The Legislature has now allotted funds, $18.9m, for 4-to-6-foot wide medians along the center of the dangerous twelve-mile stretch, as well as rumble strips. The project is due to launch in the Spring on 2019 and wrap up in the Fall of 2020.

On Jan. 10, 2019 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Everett Police Major Crimes detectives arrested a 33- year-old Everett woman in connection with this case. The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree.

​In a long-awaited move, the Evergreen branch of the Everett Public Library will be closed from Christmas Eve of this year at 3:00 pm, through "late 2019" for renovations. All staff, programs and services will relocated to the main branch on Hoyt.
