New Turf Continues to be Added at Everett Parks

This effort, the third in a series, aims to remove soil that was contaminated by the Everett Smelter from 1894 to 1912, the discovery of which didn’t come along until 1990. The soil contains lead and arsenic.

The open house will take place at Hillcrest Elementary School from 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday, March 20. A short presentation will take place at 6:15 p.m. and again at 7:15 pm. WSDOT staff will be on site to discuss the new design with community members.
