Our KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for September 2019 is Davanta Murphy-McMillan, running back for the Cascade Bruins. So far this season (through 4 games), the 5' 9" 170 lb. senior has 118 carries, 1076 rushing yards, 15 touchdowns; averaging 9.1 yards per carry and 269 yards per game. Against Everett he racked up 334 yards and 6 touchdowns and against Mount Vernon had 322 yards and 3 touchdowns on an amazing 43 carries. Davanta’s GPA is 3.6 and his goal is to rush for 2000 yards this season. Jordan Sieh is head football coach at Cascade High School. Congratulations Davanta!

State Champion Bowler Paris Smith of Cascade High is our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for January 2019. Smith won the 4A state title last month by rolling a 1214 point six game series score during the WIAA State Championships at Narrows Plaza in University Place. Paris is a three sport athlete who participates in Swimming and Golf while also excelling in the classroom. She carries a 3.9 GPA and plans to continue bowling in college while studying Biomedical Engineering at Wichita State University.

Prep Sports Weekly. Thursday, March 7, 2019. We finally get a chance to name our January Russell & Hill Student Athletes of the Month (blame the snow). Our Female Athlete is Paris Smith, state champion bowler from Cascade High School; along with her coach Ron Hicks. Our Male Athlete is Ben Olesen, boys basketball player at Jackson High School; along with his coach Steve Johnson. We also welcome in the 3A State 4th Place Girls Basketball team, the Snohomish Panthers with players Maya Duchesne; Kinslee Gallatin; Courtney Perry and Ella Gallatin; along with head coach Ken Roberts and assistant coach Sean Brix.

Finally a chat with Jerry Jensen (yes, he's Archbishop Murphy's Head Football Coach) this night he's honored as a member of Cascade's State Football Championship team from 1991 which was inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame.
