KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete-December 2022-Steven Kuhnle Jr. Monroe High School

Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for December 2022 is senior basketball player Steven Kuhnle Jr. from Monroe High School. In the month of December, Kuhnle led the Bearcats to an 8-0 record (ultimately winning their first 12 games of the season). Monroe kept its unbeaten run alive with back-to-back 11-point victories over Prairie and Burlington-Edison at the Burlington-Edison Winter Invite. Kuhnle scored 16 points per game during the tournament. Steven led the Bearcats to a 16-5 overall record in 2022-23 and advanced to the winner-to-state district tournament game against Everett. KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete-December 2022-Vivienne Berrett-Stanwood High School

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for December 2022; senior basketball player Vivienne Berrett of Stanwood High School. Scoring nearly 24 points per game, Vivienne led the Spartans to a 7-1 record in December, with the only loss coming to Class 4A powerhouse Woodinville. She led the Spartans to a school-best 4th place trophy at the WIAA State 3A Girls Basketball Tournament at The Tacoma Dome with wins over Lynnwood, Lakeside and Lincoln, and a loss to Mead. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was junior forward Mae Washington of Everett; she led the Seagulls with 27 points, 17 in the third quarter, as Everett defeated Bishop Blanchet 63-28.
