Boeing employees are encouraged to begin payroll deductions of $50 per paycheck, in order to accrue $6k between now and when talks begin. The motivation behind the movement is to have a workforce that is financially solvent to the point of being able to withstand the cost stress of long weeks of negotiation.

Everett PD to Launch Body Worn Camera Program

Besides transparency, the Institute cites increased civility, the concept that citizen compliance is increased and less complaints lodged against law enforcement once the additional level of surveillance is disclosed. Quicker resolution is noted as well, as a nod to faster resolution to citizen complaints and lawsuits pertaining to excessive force. The body worn cameras can also supply additional evidence to ongoing investigations and be a rich source for training materials.

DUI Awareness Interview 2019-The Life of James Areneson

James Arneson was well known in the area as a founding member of the Crossroads Quartet a Barbershop Gospel Quartet. On the night of March 14, 2012, James and his son Theory were headed north on Highway 9 to the family’s hobby farm in Arlington. They were singing gospel tunes together on the radio, when out of nowhere they were hit head-on by a drunk driver. James was killed instantly and Theory suffered broken vertebrae, sternum and ribs and the heartbreak of losing his best friend. Cheryl and Theory talk about that night and the life of James Arneson.

The scholarships are meant to help people obtain family-wage jobs in the building trades without incurring the heavy debt associated with education, a barrier for many as the cost of living and education continue to climb faster than wages. “This is all about giving back to our community, through our community.”
