UPDATE, JULY 2: Units with the Everett Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the murder that occurred Thursday, June 26 in the 7700 block of Evergreen Way. 

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, the department’s Anti-Crime Team (ACT), Violent Crime Unit (VCU) and Major Crimes detectives arrested an 18-year-old male in conjunction with the homicide. 

At approximately 10:40 p.m. on June 26, officers were notified by a neighboring law enforcement agency that two males with gunshot wounds had arrived at a local hospital.

Further investigation determined that a shooting had occurred earlier in the evening in the 7700 block of Evergreen Way. Shell casings found at the scene corroborated this determination.

Major Crimes Unit detectives responded to the location to process the scene. A person of interest was identified using Flock Safety System License Plate Reader (LPR) cameras, and their identity was confirmed throughout the course of the investigation.

One victim, a male in his 20s, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The second victim, an 18-year-old male, was released from the hospital after treatment.

The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Murder 2, Drive-by Shooting, and Assault 1.

EVERETT, JUNE 30: A shooting on Evergreen Way Thursday night has left one male dead and the other in critical condition.

The shooting is believed to have taken place around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, June 26 the Everett Police Department said. Two male subjects, a 21-year-old and an 18-year-old, were taken to the hospital with significant injuries. The 21-year-old male has unfortunately passed away.

Through the course of their investigation, officers were able to determine the shooting occurred in the 7700 block of Evergreen Way. Evidence discovered there corroborated this conclusion, Everett Police said.

As of Monday, June 30, no subjects are in custody.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit and the Violent Crime Unit are currently investigating.
