EVERETT – The Everett Public School District (EPSD) will be holding its third Annual Community Resource Fair from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 at the Community Resource Center in downtown Everett.
This event brings together over 35 vendors making it the largest resource fair yet put on by the EPSD. Vendors range from Goodwill, Childcare Aware, the Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Domestic Violence Services Snohomish County, and more. The goal of the fair is to bring knowledge about legal services, health, mental health, education, and training. It is also an opportunity to make community connections with families across Everett and Snohomish County.
“I believe in the strength of connecting people,” said EPSD Family and Community Engagement Coordinator Abby Mayers. Mayers has spearheaded the community resource fair from the beginning after transferring to the EPSD three years ago from Seattle. “Everett is rich in resources, and we wanted to create a one-stop shop to help families,” said Mayers.
Included in the lineup of providers, agencies and other businesses is Care-a-Van, a mobile health clinic run by the Washington State Department of Health. Attendees of the resource fair can receive new Pfizer, Moderna COVID-19, and flu vaccines as well as blood sugar and blood pressure screenings. The fair will also provide Narcan kits.
“With COVID benefits beginning to go away, it can be hard for families to afford some of these services. All are welcome and we’re really hoping to get a great turnout, so more families know about this info,” said Mayers. “We need to establish those relationships, so we have names and people to turn to when we need those services.”
In addition to the vendor lineup, there will be free produce provided by Black Seed Farms/Modest Market, giveaways and fun activities for kids including a firetruck visit.
