From the City of Everett: we’re almost there! See below for full press release.
The intersection of Evergreen Way and Casino Road will be impacted by a major water main replacement project starting Jan. 2, 2019, until Jan. 10, 2019.
the intersection, will be implemented, as needed, to accommodate worker and public safety.
Purpose
Replacing aging main for water quality and water flow improvements. Old unlined mains typically contain mineral and rust deposits that grow within
unlined iron pipe. This growth impedes the flow of water and can slough off and create water quality problems. This water main is the main feed
to the south of the City of Everett distribution system, making it critical to remain in operation during and after an earthquake.
Project Description
Remove and replace approximately 2,500 feet of 1933 vintage unlined, with 12-inch diameter earthquake resistant pipe system and appurtenances. City
staff will install a temporary bypass water main to keep all affected businesses in water during construction.
