Explosive Device Found Outside Marysville Gas StationMon, January 10, 2022 by Daniel AlbertSHARE NOW HomeNorth Sound StoriesExplosive Device Found Outside Marysville Gas StationA photo of the explosive device found at the Jackson’s Shell Gas Station near 1209 4th Street in Marysville after the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad deemed the device safe.MARYSVILLE – On Jan. 9, around 1:30 p.m., Marysville Patrol Officers responded to a call to the Jackson’s Shell Gas Station near 1209 4th Street after a 911 caller observed an item on the Northwest corner of the property that resembled a firework-type mortar with a large fuse coming out of it.Once officers arrived on the scene, they immediately cleared the gas station of employees and customers and closed the business during the investigation. Both the police and the Marysville Fire Department determined the item to be a legitimate threat and requested the assistance of the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad.Once they arrived on the scene, they rendered the device safe. Police said that it appears the person(s) who left the device attempted to light the fuse but were unsuccessful. This is still an ongoing investigation and MPD is requesting anyone who may have seen something to please report it to Marysville Police at 360-363-8300.
