State Route 9 is closed between Eaglefield Drive and Highland Drive in Arlington this morning after an overnight car/pedestrian collision. According to Arlington Police and North County Fire and EMS, they received a report of this incident at 238 AM. Both pedestrians were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Arlington Police have the driver of the involved vehicle in custody and are processing him for suspicion of DUI. The driver is a 28-year old Stanwood man.
State Route 9 will be closed for some period to investigate this fatality incident. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
