MONROE, JUNE 9: The biggest “hot topic” in motorsports isn’t Ryan Blaney or Joseph Newgarden, it isn’t Roger Penske or Lewis Hamilton. It isn’t former NASCAR Champion turned FOX broadcaster Kevin Harvick; but it’s close. It’s Kevin’s 12-year-old son Keelan.

Both are scheduled to race this summer at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe at the Mark Galloway 150 Shootout Presented by Tire Pros on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

While bringing a former NASCAR Champion to the “Superspeedway of the West” is newsworthy in, and of, itself; the story is enhanced with Keelan’s stunning win, over his dad, and others, at their first head-to-head match-up this past Saturday at Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. .

Granted, the race win by Keelan came at the expense of his dad and three other racers spinning out with 6 laps remaining in the Cars Tour West event. But, the last time we looked, they give the trophy to the first driver to see the checkered flag fly. In this case, it was the driver that won’t get his street drivers license for four more years.

The Hunt Brothers Pizza-sponsored Harvicks will race as part of the Cars Tour West Tri-State Challenge Series. The Galloway 150 is slated for the big 5/8s mile track (.646 miles). Gates will open at 2pm, with Opening Ceremonies at 6pm.

Scheduled to race are the Pro Late Models on the 5/8s; Mini Stocks; Street Stocks and the INEX Legends Cars.
