The Everett Animal Shelter launched its senior foster program last summer. While it’s been successful, there’s still plenty of need for new foster families
for their Senior Dog Foster Program and the PACK (Puppies/AdultCats/Kittens) program. Here’s how you can help, if you have room in your home and your
heart for fostering.
If you’re interested in the PACK program, start with a no-obligation training. No need to pre-register, just show up. Dates for the training are: this
Saturday April 27th from 3pm-4:30pm, Saturday, May 18, 1pm-2:30pm, Wednesday, and June 12 6pm-7:30pm (doors will open at 5:30pm).
The same holds true for the Senior Dog Foster program: Wednesday, May 8, 6pm-7:30pm and Wednesday, June 5, 6pm-7:30pm. For both of these trainings,
doors will open at 5:30pm. Really, all you have to do is show up.
All these sessions will double as an orientation/foster combo. The purpose of the trainings is to clarify the expectations of interested parties who
are interested in volunteering or fostering.
To start with, this is what’s expected of you:
Be at least 18 years of age
Pass a WSP background check
Be able to get started right away
Make the beginning to end foster commitment
Have your pets at home current on all vaccinations
Be able to keep foster animals separated from your own pets (if required)
Bring the foster animals to the shelter for weight checks and vaccinations and medical checks (as necessary)
Provide lots of love and attention to your foster pets!
