EVERETT, JAN. 8: A man was found deceased with gunshot wounds in North Everett on Monday, Jan. 6.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, officers with the Everett Police Department were dispatched to assist the Everett Fire Department regarding a report of a male down near the 100 block of Highland Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male in his 50s with multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded to the incident and are currently investigating.
This investigation is being treated as a homicide, the first of the year in Everett, Public Information Officer Natalie Given said.
Witnesses informed officers they heard what they believed to be fireworks prior to police arrival. Numerous shell casings were located and collected, the press release said.
Police are still investigating as to why the 50-year-old male was shot.
