Press release from Echandia:

MARYSVILLE, JULY 30 – In response to the rapidly increased demand in America’s maritime electrification sector, Echandia has chosen the Marysville Corporate Center as their first home in North America. Echandia will begin producing its advanced Lithium Titanium Ion battery system, the safest, most resilient, and longest-lasting maritime battery system on the market.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Washington State Governor’s office and Washington Department of Commerce for their invaluable assistance and guidance,” says Fredrik Hellström, CEO of Echandia Marine AB. “The US market holds immense strategic importance for us, and this move represents a pivotal step in our rapid expansion.”

The company is excited to provide new jobs in Washington and become a more prominent player in North America’s expanding maritime electrification market.

Washington’s favorable business environment and proximity to key customers played central roles in the decision-making process regarding the location of Echandia’s new facility.

Work is set to begin without delay. To start, Echandia will lease approximately 20,000 square feet, with plans to expand to twice that space while implementing their plan in phases, and will begin hiring immediately. Jobs will include everything from sales to manufacturing on an as needed basis.

“Washington is leading the world’s high-tech revolution, putting people to work on solutions that will change the world for the better,” says Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. “Echandia will continue that right here in Marysville, putting brilliant Washingtonians to work and accelerating the decarbonization of maritime transport.”
