Marysville FD Acquires Two New Full Time Responders

Direct from the City of Marysville: We had two brand new, fulltime firefighters joining the Marysville Fire Department. Let’s welcome Hunter Day and
Joseph Kendrick. They are just two of the twenty-six recruits who graduated with the most recent Washington State Fire Training Academy Class.

The Marysville Fire District congratulates two of our newest full-time firefighters who recently graduated from the Washington State Fire Training
Academy. Firefighter/Paramedics Hunter Day and Joseph Kendrick were presented with their diplomas on Friday.

Day and Kendrick completed 12 weeks of rigid and demanding classroom, practical and physical training at the state facility in North Bend. Both Day
and Kendrick received the academy’s Leadership Award. Kendrick also received the Bulldog Award, given each week to an outstanding recruit. They
will both now return to Marysville to continue their training as probationary firefighters.

“We congratulate these firefighters on their accomplishments and their commitment to serve our community,” Fire Chief Martin McFalls said.

A total of 26 recruits from across Washington State graduated with the current Washington State Fire Training Academy class. We commend all these firefighters
for their dedication and service.
