Memorial for WSP Trooper Gadd on Tuesday March 12th in Everett


Washington State Trooper Christopher Gadd was fatally struck by a motorist driving at a high rate of speed southbound on Interstate 5 near Marysville early Saturday morning, March 2nd. His father is also a Washington State Trooper and his sister as well in Texas. A son, brother, husband and father, dedicated to service in his community, his loss is senseless and the his life and presence are greatly missed by his family, friends, and the WSP.

A public memorial service for Trooper Gadd will be held on Tuesday, March 12th at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett starting at 1:00 PM. There will be a ceremonial procession prior to the memorial service.

Many streets around the arena will either be closed or have no street parking throughout much of Tuesday the 12th. Starting at 5:00 AM. Hewitt Ave will be totally closed to all traffic between Broadway and Wetmore Ave. Wall Street will also be closed between Broadway and Oakes, along with Lombard Ave from Pacific to Wall Street, and Oakes Street from Wall Street to Hewitt Ave.

On this past Friday, Everett Public Works placed no parking signage on many streets within 4 blocks of the arena.

Those planning to attend the memorial should plan to carpool, take transit, or be prepared to park a number of blocks away from the arena.

The streets and parking are scheduled to reopen by 7:00 PM Tuesday.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect accused of causing the collision has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide.
