EVERETT, SEPT. 3: The Pacifica Chamber Orchestra (PCO) is gearing up for its opening concert for the 2024-2025 season.
About 17 musicians are performing in the program, including Fred Chu, Artistic Director of PCO. There is no conductor for this orchestra, Jo Hull, Media and Marketing for PCO, wrote in an email.
“Not many orchestras can perform by listening to each other without following someone on a podium,” Hull wrote. Hull said that the orchestra follows the direction of Chu.
PCO performs composers’ works of the 20th and 21st centuries, specifically by women and living composers.
The group’s mission is to “enrich the local, regional and international community through exceptional chamber music performances that engage and inspire diverse audiences.”
The concert will begin at 3 p.m., Oct. 5, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Everett, 4634 Alger Ave.
On the program:
