SNOHOMISH COUNTY, AUG. 26: Snohomish Public Utilities District (PUD) will hold Q&A sessions in September for residents to discuss how PUD is working to ensure sustainable power for the future.
The discussion is focused on PUD’s 2025 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), which is a long-term strategy for the PUD’s power resources to support a changing environment, customer needs, regulatory compliance and resource availability, lead communications specialist Kellie Stickney wrote in an email.
The IRP is updated every two years. It was last updated in 2023, but PUD is gathering community input for 2025.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11 PUD will hold a meeting from 5-7 p.m. at the Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave W in Lynnwood. This is one of three ways PUD is engaging the public to learn more about IRP.
The next event Thursday, Sept. 12, at noon on Microsoft Teams is part of the PUD’s discussion series ‘Power Talks’. There will be three PUD clean energy and power supply experts to help answer questions. The questions asked will provide PUD with important information to guide the plan, Stickney wrote.
‘Power Talks’ is a monthly series with PUD designed to bring more information on topics related to programs or initiatives at PUD, Stickney wrote. You can view previous meetings here. This discussion will also be recorded for viewers convivence.
Registration is required to join but is free.
On Sept. 18 PUD will be hosting a meeting from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 4th St. Here participants can engage with IRP and see if they qualify for free appliances for their home, Stickney wrote.
