EVERETT, MARCH 4: Seattle Paine Field Airport (PAE) in Everett announced that they will provide services from Frontier Airlines, announcing three new routes beginning in June.
The news came Tuesday, March 4 during a press conference at Seattle Paine Field Airport. PAE currently has services from Alaska Airlines.
This additional service means that travelers can fly directly to 10 cities from PAE, with Denver as the newest addition.
Frontier Airlines, known for providing low-fare flight options, will provide direct routes to Denver, Las Vegas and Phoenix, with departures beginning at three times a week.
Stephen Shaw, the Frontier’s senior manager of networking planning said that the new flight options are “all about choice”.
“I believe that there’s a strong unmet demand for low fares in this region and to be honest, the most convenient choice as well,” Shaw said. “It is all about choice and we are expanding those choices today.”
The airline is offering promotional introductory fares to celebrate the new service at PAE. The estimated intro fare to Denver is $39. While the fare for Las Vegas and Phoenix is estimated at $29.

Brett Smith, the CEO of Propeller Airports, which operates the PAE terminal, said that the service provides another option for SEA which is dealing with high travel demands.
“As the demand for travel continues to grow across the region, we know travelers are looking for ways to access destinations regionally and across the world. Both Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Paine Field are important assets to our region’s economic strength and future growth. It’s great to see new options open up for travelers and we congratulate our partners at Paine Field,” Chris Guizlo, Communications Director with the Port of Seattle said in a statement.
Annually PAE brings in $60 billion in economic impact, according to an Aviation Economic Impact Study. The airport is most notably home to The Boeing
Company’s primary production facility for 747-, 767-, 777-, and 787-series aircraft. SEA generates roughly $22 billion in economic activity yearly.
The new services from Frontier are expected to bring in new jobs and visitors to the Puget Sound. Currently, PAE supports 158,277 jobs in the region.
“We know that the demand for commercial air service throughout the state and region is growing. Our population will continue to grow here, and we’re just thrilled to be playing a part along with SEA and other service providers to be part of the solution…” Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers said.
PAE was built in 1936 and has had a critical role both regionally and nationally as the manufacturing and testing center for Boeing aircrafts. PAE began commercial air service in 2019.
To celebrate the addition of Frontier Airlines, Seattle Paine Field will be hosting a celebration on Monday, June 2.
