EVERETT, NOV. 26: The two males initially reported in Sunday night’s altercation resulting in a shooting have been identified as a boss and his employee, according to court documents.
The manager and his employee have been working together for approximately one year, he told police. Around 4:30-5 p.m., the suspect arrived at his manager’s house on the 1700 block of Colby Ave.
The suspect, 43, asked his manager, 34, for help with child support paperwork, and his boss let him into his home. During the conversation, the manager noted the employee was “upset” and “nervous”.
The employee also declined to sit down and was acting “confused”. The boss later told police the employee could have been on drugs, according to the court papers.
The employee began to say something along the lines of “You never know who you are talking to,” pulling up his hand inside his jacket pocket. The boss heard a loud bang afterward, he told police.
The manager realized that his employee shot him in the face and ran towards the back of the house to lock himself and his girlfriend away. He then called 911.
Police responded to the scene around 5 p.m. They transported the manager to Providence Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect had fled the scene and booked a room at the Tulalip Casino, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd, Tulalip. The employee used a company credit card, allowing Everett police to track him down and take him into custody.
A 22lr semi-auto handgun magazine was found inside his room according to the court papers.
The employee was booked into Snohomish County Jail for first-degree assault.
