EVERETT June 5: Snohomish County will celebrate Pride Month today by raising a pride flag and holding a resource fair on the Snohomish County Campus from noon to 2 p.m.

“For me, its just about showing that we are an inclusive county, that we are also showing support for our employees to have a special month dedicated to Pride and all the activities throughout the county,” Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn said.

Last Wednesday, the Snohomish County Council recognized June as Pride Month, affirming that “LGBTQIA+ rights are human rights.” The proclamation was sponsored by Dunn and Strom Peterson and dissented by Nate Nehring and Sam Low.

This is the 4th annual Pride flag raising for Snohomish County, and Dunn said they are really glad to be able to continue the tradition of celebrating all of the LGBTQ residents and families in the county.

Here is the list of speakers:

  • Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn
  • Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers
  • Snohomish County Sheriff Susanna Johnson
