At about 6:51 p.m. Everett Fire and Marysville Fire District responded to the incident, with one worker falling 60 ft. into the water after the “cherry picker” work bucket fell over. That worker swam to shore, was evaluated by first responders, and then transported to the hospital for further assessment, according to a Facebook Post by Everett Fire.

The second worker climbed to safety using a ladder under the I-5 bridge. The worker did not sustain any injuries.

One lane of northbound I-5 was closed while Washington State Patrol towed the construction equipment.
