The fourth annual Shakespeare in the Park is presented by Wooden O Theater, part of the Seattle Shakespeare Company. During the summer, Seattle Shakespeare offers free outdoor performances across the Puget Sound.

“Two Gentlemen of Verona” follows two best friends, Proteus and Valentine who travel to Milan where they both fall in love with the same girl, Silvia. The story explores themes of love and betrayal.

“When we think of Shakespeare we think of old Victorian, dry and stuffy,Kelly said, the thing about this, it’s not like that at all. We got fun-loving local actors who are very interactive.”

There will be a $5 raffle with the chance to win AquaSox tickets, pies, gift cards and more. Hotdogs and popcorn will also be available, Kelly said.

A craft booth will be present for kids to engage with the story through art.

The event is sponsored by the Seattle Shakespeare Company, the City of Everett, Schack Art Center, Port of Everett, and the Delta Neighborhood Association.

Kelly said that events like these are an opportunity to show what the Delta Neighborhood, and the city of Everett, have to offer.
