Let’s give a wonderful send off to Tim Hunter, and welcome his successor with open arms. Bryon Mengle is also hilarious, after all, he had Tim Hunter as his Best Man.

After nearly 50 years, Seattle radio veteran Tim Hunter is hanging up the headphones and finally getting to sleep in. Beginning Monday, August 4, there’s a new voice coming to KRKO. Bryon Mengle will host “Mengle in the Morning” weekdays 6-9AM. Bryon is no stranger to waking up early or the Puget Sound. He grew up in western Washington and has hosted, and produced morning shows in Seattle, Bend (OR), Billings (MT) and Cedar Rapids (IA).

The passing of the torch from Tim to Bryon is one between friends. Bryon and Tim first met when Bryon served as morning show producer for “Murdock, Hunter and Alice” at KLSY. They have remained friends over the years. Tim was the best man in Bryon’s wedding and Bryon has been the regular morning show fill-in on KRKO when Tim’s taken vacation.

“I’m excited to carry on what Tim started with a morning show that is about sharing life, laughter, and Everett’s Greatest Hits every morning,” says Bryon Mengle.

You’ll have a chance to meet him in person in the near future.
