EVERETT – Just after 3 pm yesterday (Mon. Oct. 18) Everett Community College alerted Washington State University Everett campus of an apparent gas line break at the Cascade Learning Resource Center construction site, located in the same parking lot as the WSU satellite campus in North Everett.

EvCC suggested that the campus should evacuate immediately resulting in an announcement on the WSU Everett Twitter account, “#EverCougs, due to a gas line break at the construction site behind WSU Everett we are evacuating WSU Everett immediately as a precaution. Please safely gather your belongings so we can close the building. Campus will be closed for the remainder of the day.”

According to WSU Everett, Puget Sound Energy repaired the gas line later that evening. WSU Everett opened on time Friday morning and no further classes were canceled.
