About Ted Buehner (Meteorologist)

North Sound Meteorologist Ted Buehner worked more than 40 years for the National Weather Service (NWS) from 1977 to 2018. His last position was as Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the NWS in Seattle, a key customer liaison position, working toward enhancing the “end-to-end” forecast and warning system by more closely tying the agency's mission of protecting lives and property, and enhancing the region’s economy, with its partners and customers, such as emergency managers, the media, aviation, hydrology, wildfire and the marine community.

He is now a North Sound Media team member. Together with Everett Post Weather Minute Podcasts, he provides morning and afternoon commute traffic and weather updates on both KRKO and KXA Radio, and sports reporting on KRKO.

He also remains passionate about helping to protect our community in other roles:

• The Washington State Emergency Communications Committee
• The Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference Committee
• Emergency Management Group - Washington that supports emergency and safety coordination for events like Special Olympics and Seafair in Seattle
• Snohomish County Emergency Management
