Congratulations to our KRKO Radio Russell and Hill Female Athlete of the Month for April 2020, Emilie Henningsen of the Glacier Peak High School Class of 2020. Emilie is heading to the University of Oregon to join their top-ranked Acrobatics & Tumbling Team. The Ducks won 4 consecutive National Championships from 2011-2014. Emilie was originally a gymnast with Cascade Elite Gymnastics where she attained Level 10 status. She spent the last two years competing for Connect Cheer Northwest out of Bellevue and competed in the National Championships in Orlando last year and was scheduled to compete in the World Championships (also in Orlando) prior to COVID-19 pandemic. She was recently featured on KING 5 News and has been spending her quarantine
time in the family backyard where she has a small portable tumbling mat on the porch and an enclosed trampoline in the yard. Emilie carried a 3.90 GPA at Glacier Peak.


Tom Lafferty is the Sports Director at KRKO/KKXA Radio. He is a member of the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame; the Snohomish High School Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Dave Duvall Award from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association District One and the Joe Martin Award for Service to baseball's Northwest League. Tom Lafferty & Steve Willits are co-hosts of Prep Sports Weekly, Mondays at 7 pm on KRKO.
