Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete for the Month of November 2021, Snohomish sophomore swimmer Mary Clarke. Mary won the Class 3A State Championship in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.51, held at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. She also took second place at the state meet in the 100-yard freestyle; missing the state title by a mere .04 seconds; with a time of 51.19. The Snohomish Panthers took 12th place as a team. Clarke led Snohomish to a District One championship the week before and set meet records in both of her events. She also swam on the district champion 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams and was awarded her team’s Hardest Worker Award. Girls swim coach at Snohomish High School is Jenny Service.
Tom Lafferty
Tom Lafferty is the Sports Director at KRKO/KKXA Radio. He is a member of the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame; the Snohomish High School Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Dave Duvall Award from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association District One and the Joe Martin Award for Service to baseball's Northwest League. Tom Lafferty & Steve Willits are co-hosts of Prep Sports Weekly, Mondays at 7 pm on KRKO.
