Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for February 2022 is Alex Rapelje, senior wrestler at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Alex is a two-time state champion wrestler; winning title at 152 lbs in 2022 and previously at 138 lbs in 2020. (Due to the pandemic, there was no Mat Classic State Wrestling Tournament in 2021). Rapelje finished fourth in state as a 120 lb freshman in 2019 at The Tacoma Dome. He has been wrestling competitively for 12 years and is a running-start student who is currently taking all of his classes at Edmonds Community College. Alex would like to study chemistry somewhere at a university in the midwest that offers wrestling. Head boys wrestling coach at Edmonds-Woodway is Brian Alfi.
