Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete for the Month of November 2021, Arlington senior cross country runner Brandon Moore. Brandon finished in second place at the Class 3A Boys State Cross Country Championships held at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on November 6th. He completed the course with a time of 15:34; eight seconds ahead of the third-place runner. (The State 3A Champion from Bishop Blanchet won by 17 seconds). The Arlington Eagles finished seventh as a team at the state meet. Moore won the 3A District One title the week prior, and the Eagles team also finished first. Brandon finished 33rd his sophomore year (no state championships his junior year due to Covid season). The team finished 4th in state that year. Arlington High School Cross Country Coach is Mike Shierk.
Tom Lafferty is the Sports Director at KRKO/KKXA Radio. He is a member of the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame; the Snohomish High School Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Dave Duvall Award from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association District One and the Joe Martin Award for Service to baseball's Northwest League.
