Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete for the Month of September 2021 is Marysville Pilchuck senior football player Dylan Carson. Dylan rushed for a state-leading and school record 2,671 yards (eighth all-time in the State of Washington); and a school record 46 all-purpose touchdowns (third best all-time). Defensively, Carson recorded 76 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 4 quarterback sacks.  Marysville Pilchuck advanced to the 3A State Semi-Finals and along the way set a school record with 427 yards rushing and 5 TDs in a 39-21 State Quarterfinals victory over #3 ranked Yelm. The Tomahawks went 11-2 for the 2021 season. Dylan recently announced that he will further his football career at the collegiate level at The Air Force Academy. Tom Lafferty is the Sports Director at KRKO/KKXA Radio. He is a member of the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame; the Snohomish High School Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Dave Duvall Award from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association District One and the Joe Martin Award for Service to baseball's Northwest League.
