Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for February 2025; from the King’s High School Girls Track & Field Team, junior Kim Beard. Already a two-time 1A state champion in the discus; this year she threw 152’ 5” at the state track meet in Yakima. Kim also competes in the shot put (2nd) and javelin (7th). She is also state champion in the non-WIAA sanctioned hammer throw. Beard has four national titles; three national records; 11 All-Americans; is a four-time state champion and is a member of the Nike Elite Track & Field team. Only a junior, she carries a 3.98 GPA and takes multiple Advance Placement courses. Her plan is to compete in the hammer at the collegiate level.
