Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for March 2024; from the Marysville Pilchuck High School Girls Track & Field Team, junior, Maya Velasquez. Maya brought home the Class 3A State High Jump title, at the State Track Meet at Mount Tahoma High School. She is the first female state track championship winner in Marysville Pilchuck’s 54-year history. Velasquez cleared 5 feet, 4 inches to secure the first-place medal in the girls high jump. The jump also marked her personal best. She also plays volleyball at MP. Head Girls Track Coach at Marysville Pilchuck is Kris Jensen; district athletic director is Rocky Verbeck.
