Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for May 2024; from the Jackson High School Girls Golf team, freshman, Chanyoung Park. Park won the 2024 Class 4A Girls Golf Singles State Championship at The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course in Spokane. She held a single shot lead when she arrived at the 495 yard, par 5, 18th hole. Her eagle on the 18th assured her a 4 shot victory over Jacinda Lee of Camas. The 14-year-old started the first round of her high school career by going birdie, birdie, hole-in-one at Walter E. Hall Golf Course. Then, it was off to the races with league, district and an eventual state title from there. Her individual title allowed Jackson to finish in second-place in the team competition at state. Head Girls Golf coach at Jackson is Jerome Gotz; athletic director is Michelle Renee.
