Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for December 2024 is senior guard for the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors Boys Basketball team, Cameron Hiatt. Cam led the Warriors to the 2024-25 State 3A Boys State Championship game. After starting his high school career at King’s High School, Hiatt spent his junior year at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, before returning “home” to Edmonds-Woodway for his senior season. And what a season it was! He led the Warriors to a 26-3 record, storming their way through the post-season until losing to the top-seed Rainier Beach Vikings 68-48 at the Tacoma Dome. It was the best finish by an Edmonds-Woodway team ever. Hiatt averaged 21.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game en route to being named Wesco 3A MVP and a selection to the All-Tournament First Team and All-State Game. Cameron will continue his athletic career, playing basketball at Dartmouth next fall. Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach at Edmonds-Woodway is Tyler Geving.
