Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for March 2025; from the Snohomish High School Boys Swim & Dive Team, senior Torsten Hokanson. Torsten returned to Snohomish High School after the State Swim & Dive Meet at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center with three state 3A championships. He captured the 50 Free (20.4; holds the school and district records); the 200 Free Relay (1:24.19; holds the school and district records with teammates Ryson Tuomisto, Connor Culloton and Owen Collins) and the 400 Free Relay (3:05.99; holds the school and district records with the same teammates). Hokanson qualified for the state meet as a freshman (did not place); as a sophomore (did not place; he swam the meet suffering from pneumonia and ended up missing more than a month of classes). As a junior he placed second in the 100 Free and the 200 Free. Torsten has qualified for the 2025 Summer Junior National Championships this summer. Hokanson will attend and swim at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo. in the fall; he plans to study business and exercise science.
