Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for May 2025; senior Erick Diaz from the Granite Falls High School Track & Field team. After finishing 8th in 2024; Diaz recently won the Class 1A Pole Vault State Championship at the State A/B Track Meet at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima with a jump of 14’3”; a full 3 inches higher than second place. He was also a member of the 5th place 4×400 meter relay team. Erick carried a 3.87 GPA during his high school career and will be attending the University of Washington and plans to study law. Head Track & Field coach at Granite Falls is Mark Neuman; Athletic Director is David Bianchini.
