Congratulations to Snohomish Volleyball player MacKenzie Whyte, our KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Student Athlete of the Month for September 2019.
MacKenzie is a junior co-captain who plays all over the court; the Panthers are currently 6-0 and has yet to drop a set this year and has won 26
consecutive matches in the Western Conference. Mac currently leads Wesco 3A in kills and service aces and broke the school individual record on
the opening night of the 2019 season with 13 service aces against Edmonds-Woodway. Snohomish finished 5th at the state tournament in 2018 and 8th
in 2017. Would eventually like to play Division I volleyball and her dream school is Penn State; she’s hoping to become a veterinarian. Her sister
played at UCONN. Alex Tarin is head volleyball coach at Snohomish.

Tom Lafferty is the Sports Director at KRKO/KKXA Radio. He is a member of the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame; the Snohomish High School Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Dave Duvall Award from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association District One and the Joe Martin Award for Service to baseball's Northwest League.
