Prep Sports Weekly for Thursday, September 24, 2020. We begin with Everett Community College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Trautman and his former player Bobby Martin (Glacier Peak High School) who is now playing at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Bobby was also named the 2020 Snohomish County Collegiate Male Athlete of the Year. Then it’s the new Arlington High School Volleyball Coach Lauren Admundson. Coach Amundson graduated from Stanwood High School; played and coached volleyball at the collegiate level; but moves to the “other” side of the Stillaguamish River. She didn’t want the Stanwood job because her sister Megan is coach there. Finally, we talk about the WIAA LEAP Committee with Andy Knapp of WIAA and Austin Seals of Meadowdale High School. Austin is a pole vaulter and high jumper for the Mavs and was recently one of eight students in Washington state from the Class of 2022 to be selected to the Committee. Austin is the first Snohomish County student in 5 years to serve on the committee.
