Prep Sports Weekly for Monday May 31, 2021 included four segments featuring winter sports coaches and one player who tied a basketball school scoring record last Thursday.

Mariner Marauders Boys Basketball Head Coach Tevin Dillon was on the opening segment. The Marauders are undefeated after seven games this season, including a 64-36 win over Glacier Peak on Thursday night.

Lakewood Cougars Boys Basketball Head Coach Anthony Wiederkehr and LHS player Shae Dixon were featured on the second segment. The Cougars are off to a 5-1 start to their season and Dixon tied a 32 year old school record by scoring 43 points in the Cougar’s 76-50 win over Cedarcrest.

Sultan Turks Girls Basketball Coach Todd Weideman was on during the third segment to talk about his team’s 5-0 start to the season. The Turks were 7-13 last year and feature 7 seniors.

The final segment of the night featured two Snohomish High School alums that now coach the Panthers boys and girls wrestling teams. Dan Mundell coaches the girls and Alex Fairhurst coaches the boys. Both shared insight into their teams and the challenges of wrestling during the pandemic.
