Congratulations to the November 2019 recipient of the KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month, Jackson High School Swimmer junior
Mia Chang. Mia brought home two state championships from the Class 4A State Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Weyerhaueser King County
Aquatic Center in Federal Way. She won the 100-yard backstroke by finishing 1.7 seconds in front of the rest of the field (Her time was :54.54). Chang
also won the 200-yard Individual Medley by finishing .27 in front of Newport’s Samantha Baron. She and her Jackson teammates finished 2nd in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 3rd in the 400 Freestyle (Caitlyn Anderson, Emily Mun and Heidi Ly). Jackson Swim Coach is Drew Whorley.
