Edmonds Parks & Recreation in partnership with Move 60! Edmonds School District would like to invite the public to the 11th Annual Health & Fitness Expo. This expo has an emphasis on fitness and healthy lifestyles, and has been a long-standing tradition within the Edmonds community. Move 60 is partnering with Edmonds School district again, this organization encourages children to be active for 60 minutes a day.
The Expo will feature many activities for children and their families including a Kids and Family 1K Fun Run, which takes place at 10:30 am. The Fun Runs course is throughout the stadium, and sign ups can be located on the field at 10 am. Track and Field events will take place after the fun run, and will only be available for the kids. The Bike Blender event is another activity kids can take part in, which involves making your own healthy smoothie by peddling on a stationary bike. Other events include; basketball, football, floor ice hockey, soccer, and even an obstacle course. Multiple vendors will also be present at the expo, such as the Verdant Health Commission, Lee and Van Miegham DDS, and Coordinated Care. “We’re really excited to be running the Health and Fitness Expo again this year,” said Cara Brown who is the Edmonds Recreation Director. “We want all of the families to have a great time and have fun, while also learning about healthy lifestyle living.”
The Health & Fitness Expo is open to all ages. The event will take place Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 9am to Noon at Edmonds School District Stadium (7600 212 Street SW, Edmonds).
