The Washington State Dept. of Transportation announced earlier today that the North Cascades Highway, SR 20, will close at 6 PM tonight over the Cascade Summit between milepost 134/Ross Dam on the west side to milepost 171 – the Silver Star gate on the east side.
The annual closure of this segment of the highway was originally scheduled for November 15th, but incoming inclement weather with a rising risk of avalanches pulled the closure to tonight.
