Everett Silvertips win Game Two in Over Time

EVERETT, APRIL 14: The Everett Silvertips pulled out more overtime magic Saturday night, besting the Portland Winterhawks 4-3 and taking a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinal.

With the Silvertips leading 3-2 late in the third period, Winterhawks captain Kyle Chyzowski knotted the score with a shot through traffic 13:37 into the final frame. Everett struck 5:46 into the extra frame, as Tyler MacKenzie swatted a pass from the left corner in front of the crease where Seattle Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen was waiting to deflect it home.

Everett outshot Portland 7-1 in overtime and 49-38 in the contest. The Tips are now 4-0 in overtime games this playoff run, including three consecutive OT wins dating back to their Game Six double-overtime win over the Seattle Thunderbirds Monday night. The Silvertips won Game One of their semifinal series against the Winterhawks 1:34 into overtime Friday night, with Jesse Heslop scoring the winner.

Games Three and Four are set for Tuesday and Wednesday night respectively at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
