Puppy-palooza is from 10:30 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Rd. The puppies range from 2-6 months and are a variety of breeds.

Development Manager Lindsay Roe said that puppies aren’t getting adopted as regularly as they used to.

“While they’re cute and playful – we want to get them out of the shelter and into their forever homes where they can blossom into amazing canine citizens!,the shelter said on Facebook.

Many of the pups are fixed and ready to go home the same day, but others will need more time to finalize the adoption, Roe said. About a dozen puppies will be ready on Sunday.

Puppy adoption fees range from $300 to $400 and include spay or neuter, vaccines and flea and worm treatment.

You can view most of the puppies up for adoption on their website, and future dog parents ready to adopt are encouraged to send in an application before the event. The shelter hosts a couple of adoption events a year.

At the end of this month, the shelter is offering a Spring Fling Adoption promotion made possible by a partnership with the national organization Best Friends Animal Society. From March 21-24 cats and dogs more than six months old will have a reduced adoption fee.
