EVERETT, AUG. 1: Planet Mynd Play Lab is celebrating a successful year of play with a free Nerf Blaster Bash in Everett this weekend.
“This is a game that is an event that is a ‘thank you’ to the community that made the Blaster Battle series so successful,” Planet Mynd owner Tom Harrison said.
Planet Mynd is an Everett-based organization that partners with the local community to host Nerf play events.
On Saturday, Aug. 2, partake in some free family-friendly Nerf activities, food, and drinks at Lowell Park, 4605 S 3rd Ave. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and run through 3 p.m.
All games are non-elimination as part of Planet Mynd’s mission to promote positive, all-ages play through Nerf.
“We’re very open, we’re very creative, and we really bend over backwards to be inclusive for everyone,” Harrison said.
Ages 8 and up can participate in Nerf Blaster Battles, hour-long segments of the most popular games from this year. Those under 8 will have target activities to enjoy, with a range of moving marks to test their aim with balls or blasters.
Foam-dart or rival-round firing blasters are allowed at the event. Players are welcome to bring their own blasters or borrow ones provided by Planet Mynd. All darts will be provided at the park, though competitors should remember to bring their own eye protection, chairs, and shade tents.
During the Bash, there will be special appearances from Everett City officials, including Mayor Cassie Franklin.
