EVERETT, AUG. 8: It is that time of year again when students prepare to go back to school. Many organizations are gathering supplies and holding fundraisers to support students and families facing economic hardships or instability. Below is how to donate and where to access resource events in the area.

Stuff the Bus, Everett Public Schools Foundation

The Everett Public Schools Foundation is hosting its annual Stuff the Bus for Kids fundraiser. This year, their goal is to receive more than 3,200 backpacks that will be given to students and families in need.

They are collecting school supplies for elementary, middle and high school.

You can drop off donations from Friday, Aug. 15, to Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Fred Meyer, 12906 Bothell-Everett Highway or QFC, 4919 Evergreen Way.

Stuff the Bus, Mukilteo School District

Mukilteo School District will host a similar Stuff the Bus campaign beginning Monday, Aug. 11, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 15, at select grocery stores.

They are accepting backpacks, 2 or 3-inch binders, colored pencils, pencil pouches, school boxes (snap shut), crayons, markers, and non-perishable food items.

They will be accepting the items listed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the days below.

August 11-12: Fred Meyer, at 8530 Evergreen Way (food and drinks available)

August 13-14: QFC, at 11700 Mukilteo Speedway

August 15: Safeway, at 14826 Hwy 99 and 12811 Beverly Park Road

Back to School Event, Everett Community Resource Center

Lutheran Community Services Northwest is hosting a Back-to-School Event 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 at the Everett Community Resource Center, 2500 Hewitt Ave.

They will be offering students K-12 backpacks, school supplies, and snacks. Resources are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Back to School Celebration, Everett Boys and Girls Club

The Everett Boys and Girls Club is hosting a Back-to-School Celebration backpack and school supply drive.

Join them from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Everett Boys and Girls Club, 2316 12th St.

There will be games, prizes, free dinner and free backpacks filled with school supplies.

Backpacks and supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Community Days 2025, Praise Chapel World Outreach

Madison and View Ridge families are welcome to Praise Chapel World Outreach for their Community Days 2025.

Community Days is from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at 710 Pecks Dr.

Free lunch, shoes, jackets, and school supplies are available.

Summer Bash, Hawthorne Elementary

Bethany Compassion Center will be hosting a Summer Bash from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Hawthorne Elementary, 1110 Poplar St.

The Summer Bash will offer a day of fun for all ages, free lunch, backpacks with school supplies, groceries, and more.

Tulalip Back to School Bash

Open to Tulalip and Native students and families. Celebrate the new school year from 12-5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Don Hatch Youth Center, 6700 Totem Beach Rd.

The bash will offer music, rides, info booths and more.

One free backpack per K–12 student for Tulalip students and other Native MSD students with a 506 form (bring I.D. or tribal verification)

Mukilteo Back to School Fair, Mariner High School

Join the Mukilteo School District for their Back-to-School Fair from 4-6:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22, at Mariner High School, 200 120th St SW.

Learn about district programs, apply for substitute and interpreter jobs, meet community partners in healthcare, education, social support services and more.

If you have not yet received a backpack and school supplies and still need them, limited quantities will be available for Mukilteo School District families whose students are present at the event.

Mariner Fest, Mariner High School

Mariner Fest is a community resource fair featuring local agencies sharing resources with families in the Mariner Community.

Join the 4th annual fair from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Mariner High School.

Project Girl will facilitate the annual Back to School Backpack and School Supply giveaway. They aim to support 1,200 students with supplies.

Registration is now open for families requesting backpacks and supplies. Pre-registration is required with Project Girl.

Back to School Haircuts, facials and manicures, 12-4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the Evergreen Beauty College, 802 SE Everett Mall Way.

Back to School Free Vaccination Clinics throughout Snohomish County. Mukilteo School District will be 2-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Mariner High School. Appointments are available, and walk-ins are welcome.
