EVERETT, AUG 27: A 19-year-old man died early Wednesday, Aug. 27, after losing control of his vehicle at a high speed in unincorporated Everett.
Deputies spotted a vehicle around 12:10 a.m. this morning traveling north on 4th Ave W at extremely high speeds, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook.
As deputies pursued the vehicle, the driver ran several red traffic lights, nearly colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of 4th Ave. W and 112th St SW.
The vehicle then lost control, skidding about 200 feet before striking a parked car, a concrete wall, and a residence before coming to a stop. The impact ejected the driver, who sustained critical injuries.
The driver, a 19-year-old male, was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Detectives with the Snohomish County Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) are investigating the circumstances around the collision, noting excessive speed as a likely factor.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the identity of the driver, along with the cause and manner of the death.
